The Wedge heel gained popularity in the early 1940's with a cork heel, it was a way of getting around heel restrictions due to leather rationing. Popularity of the wedge sandal grew and continued into the 1950's in more fashionable styles and colours. Our wedge styles are taken from original patterns. They are leather with a soft step inner sole.
